SIM-PAC Live talks decarbonisation of steel production with Dr. Paul van Beurden who is Principal Researcher for Tata Steel R&D in the Netherlands, Hilbrand Kuiken CEO of Quantillion.

Direct emissions from steel production were estimated at 2.6 billion tonnes, representing between 7% and 9%. of global CO2 emissions. Tata Steel take its emissions responsibility seriously and have embarked on R&D across the board to look at CO2 reductions. This project being run in the Netherlands is to reduce emissions in just one aspect of the steel production process.
