Jodie Thompson has been championing the mining industry and its supply chain with a diverse set of skills amassed during her more than two decades experience working across the Greater Whitsunday’s resources industry. She has been the architect of some of the most critical messaging in the mining supply chain in recent years and is proud to have helped influence positive change within the industry, as well as contribute to awareness on the need to transform businesses as a new low carbon economy emerges. As the project coordinator on Decarbonisation Accelerated, delivered under the auspices of Greater Whitsunday Alliance, Jodie’s specialisations include engagement and activation across the METS sector, of which, she has a deep understanding with many connections. Contributing to the development of the recently released ‘Greater Whitsunday METS Sector – Revenue Diversification Strategy’, Jodie is now helping develop an in-depth action plan that addresses the gaps and challenges of the region’s METS SMEs diversifying into emerging sectors including critical minerals, post mining land use, renewable energy, circular economy, biomanufacturing and more.
