Daniel Lambert FTSE is a Partner and Managing Director of Pittwater Capital and the Chief Executive Officer of WaterStart Australia. Pittwater Capital is a water infrastructure developer focussed on unlocking economic growth by enabling decarbonisation projects. WaterStart is a non-profit organization that connects innovative technology companies with water agencies and major water consumers in need of innovative solutions to enhance operations of their business.

Daniel is a dynamic engineer with a passion for innovation, technology and developing sustainable water solutions. His previous executive roles include as the Australasia Water Business Leader at Arup and Executive Manager – Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions at Unitywater.

Recognised as an industry thought leader, Daniel’s contribution to innovation, sustainability and the water sector has been profound. He has worked in over 25 countries and delivered leading first-of-a-kind solutions for recycled water, water resilience and WASH projects. Some of Daniel’s work is featured in Create Magazine: Daniel Lambert on the power of engineering for good.

He was the 2021 Sir John Holland Civil Engineer of the Year and the 2022 Professional Environmental Engineer of the Year. In 2016 Daniel was recognised by Engineers Australia as one of ‘Australia’s Most Innovative Engineers’.

Dan has worked extensively in developing communities partnering with organisations including Operation Water, International WaterCentre, WaterAid, Engineers Without Borders, World Toilet Organisation, RedR and World Vision. He provides industry leadership through numerous roles including in innovation (as an Adjunct Professor at UNSW), in humanitarian engineering (as Chair of Australian Water Partnership’s Expert Review Panel) and in sustainability (as Chair of Carbon8 Fund).
